Maintaining Your City Property

The Code Compliance Officer

Owning property inside the city limits.

When you own property within the city limits of almost all major cities, you must keep it mowed and clean.

I often get calls, from property owners, asking me how soon can I get out to their property to cut it.

Almost every time they ask me in that manner, it[s because the city has issued them a citation for the grass or weeds, the vegetation, not being mowed.

When you receive a citation from the city demanding that you clean up your property, it can be just a little intimidating.

I do see what I can do to accommodate them.

Once they have hired a shredding company and set a date to come out and mow their property, the inspector will generally grant them until to get the job done.

You just need to let the officer know what the plan is for mowing your property. As long as you keep them up to date on your progress they will work with you.

You can rest assured though, this is going to happen again unless you stay on top of it.

Or you have your mowing company keep up with it for you.

All you have to do is make arrangements with them.
